I love using a combined shine and fragrance mist for my hair. For as long as I can remember I have sprayed fragrances onto my hair. It always just made sense to me. Whether perfume or the accompanying body spray, spraying my hair lasts for hours. Further, it is a supper efficient way to spread a scent throughout your body. As the years have progressed, I have seen different brands launch fragrances specifically for the hair and I have been the first in line to try them out. For me, the holy grail, a hair fragrance that has an element of hydration too. Cue Percy & Reed and their A Walk in the Rain Shine and Fragrance Hair Mist.

The Sweet, Sweet Smell of…….

I love this product for so many reasons. I have Afro-Caribbean hair and have to use heat to style it. On occasion, the high temperature of my straighteners or curlers can leave a slight burnt scent. Others say they can’t detect it but I definitely can. This spray takes that scent away and replaces it with intensely green, leafy notes with Geranium and Hyacinth and a warm, woody base. Put it this way, the spray smells like freshly washed hair caught in the rain. A smell I love but I never, ever, ever allow myself to be caught in the rain. I mean, it may have happened back in 2001 but I have not been caught-out since.

Showing-up

The scent is present enough to be detected but not so present that it interferes with whichever perfume I choose to wear. Going back to my hair type, you cannot wash Afro-Caribbean hair every day, it would become too dry and brittle. As such, I spend the time in-between hair washes wishing for that freshly washed scent. This spray provides me with that. Also, priced at £15, this is far more economical than using perfume.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Putting aside the scent, this spray also provides additional moisture as well as providing a seal against the elements. It doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it feel greasy. Let’s be clear here, I would not us this product as a stand-alone moisturiser, but it really does work to help seal in moisture. To this point, this spray also has UV protection to help fight colour fade. Perfect for me as I am constantly battling the greys with hair dye.

I have checked and this spray is out of stock. Keep checking Lookfantastic.com for more stock. Until then, Percy & Reed have another hair mist called Eau My Goodness Shine & Fragrance Spray. This spray has a different scent as outlined below.

‘The scent has fresh top notes of rhubarb and grapefruit, with floral notes through the heart of the scent of rose, peony & geraniums and rich base notes of wood, amber & honey.’ percyandreed.com

I suggest giving Eau My Goodness a try until the A Walk in the Rain is back in stock. Let me know what you think of it?
